I am thrilled to share a little “commercial” for Jamie & Clay on the blog today! Jamie and her planning committee put so much thought into this celebration in personal and sentimental details. The ceremony was at her family church in Mountville, Georgia, and the reception was on the family farm where Jamie was living. As a photographer, the details of the wedding always intrigue me because it is what makes each couple and ceremony stand out in my mind. Jamie won the dress award! Her wedding dress was one of the most beautiful I had seen in person. I will say that she probably would’ve been stunning in a paper bag though! 🙂
Get to know Jamie & Clay in her words:
The first time we met was at a friend’s house for a football party. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am NOT a sports fan…but I do like football parties for the food and fun! Clay lived in the same neighborhood and decided to pop into the party, I’m pretty sure Alabama was playing. We started talking and he asked if I wanted to play a game of corn-hole with our friends Lauren and Danny. We played and continued to talk, I thought he was nice and we ended up talking pretty much the whole night until I got tired and went home. However, Clay never asked me for my number and only got my first name so I did not think anything would ever come of that first night!
I was wrong! Clay went home and started telling his roommate, Jen, about meeting me. Just so happens, Jen and I went to high school together and she found me on Facebook. About a week later, I got a Facebook message from Clay asking if I’d like to go on a date. I agreed, but ended up getting sick and having to cancel…I’m pretty sure Clay was like “Yea…sick? Sure….” But we did end up rescheduling and went to dinner and a movie. Clay bought us tickets to go see Paranormal Activity 3 (or 4? I can’t remember) haha, if you don’t know already Clay HATES scary movies, especially really really bad ones, but knows that I love them. The movie was terrible but the date was great! That was back in November of 2012…5 years later, here we are!
Clay proposed just before New Years right before a special date to The Fig Tree in Charlotte, North Carolina. This active, camping, fun-loving couple now live in South Carolina, but will always have a place on the family farm!
